ARTIST RESIDENCIES
Éclore
For one month, Lise Chevalier will be in residence for a creative journey into the heart of Sciacca’s traditions, where the artist explores the interplay between the vitality of coral and the ancient local craftsmanship.
DISCOVER THE PLACE
Le Fabbriche
An exhibition and cultural space housed within the historic architectural complex built in the 14th century by Federico Chiaramonte, covering over 600 square meters with a garden and a reading room. Named Le Fabbriche, the space was created with the aim of establishing a permanent multidisciplinary cultural hub in the heart of the city’s historic center. It is developed in collaboration with the Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of the Temples, the municipal administration, and other local institutions. Today, it hosts the Orestiadi Foundation, offering a program that follows the Foundation’s tradition with particular focus on contemporary artistic languages.
EXPLORE THE PROJECT

Nocito Coral Museum
The project proposed by the Nocito Coral Museum of Sciacca aims to tell and celebrate the story of the floating multicultural city that emerged thanks to the coral rush between 1875 and the outbreak of World War I.This historical phenomenon brought together cultures from across the Mediterranean, who shared a common experience of collaboration between fishermen, artisans, and merchants of different ethnic backgrounds.
To narrate this extraordinary story, the Nocito Museum plans the creation of a new permanent exhibition area, which will include two rooms, one of them multimedia. This expansion will allow for a reorganization of the collection, with a special focus on the sea culture that flourished during that period. The exhibition will become a tangible symbol of intercultural cooperation among the various fishing and coral-working communities, highlighting the historical significance of this unique phenomenon.

EXPLORE THE PROJECT

Sky Reserve
With Sky Reserve, artist Rafael Yossef Herman transforms Lampedusa into a global beacon for the protection of the night sky. In one of the few places still untouched by light pollution, a land art installation celebrates the beauty of unspoiled night, exploring darkness as a living and pure dimension.
As the world’s first project aimed at creating a UNESCO-recognized “Sky Reserve”, Sky Reserve seeks to raise awareness about the impact of artificial light while promoting an international model of ecological and artistic preservation.
Lampedusa thus becomes a symbol of the bond between humanity and nature, inspiring the future of environmental conservation.
Luminous Strays
In Luminous Strays, artist Efi Spyrou creates an immersive installation blending suspended weavings, motion-sensitive lights, and original sounds. In an almost dark space, hybrid figures and luminous creatures emerge as symbols of coexistence between the natural and the artificial, between our own light and that of others.
Inspired by the spirit of Agrigento, this new sensory work invites visitors to uncover what lies hidden, opening a profound dialogue with nature — and with ourselves.
Luce e Fantasmi di Agrigento (Light and Ghosts of Agrigento)

With Luce e Fantasmi di Agrigento, Daniela Vetro tells the ancient soul of the city through a graphic novel and an exhibition of evocative illustrations.
Gold and blue, tuff and sea, light and shadow intertwine in a visual journey that celebrates Agrigento as a crossroads of cultures and encounters.
An immersive artistic experience, on view from September to October 2025, inviting visitors to rediscover the living memory of a city steeped in history, beauty, and mystery.
Odyssey of the Word –

The Art of Oratory Between Truth, Persuasion, and Deceit
The first event in Agrigento is dedicated to the power of speech and its ability to shape thought and society. The inaugural edition, themed "Corruption: Models of Prosecution and Defense," will explore the art of oratory through the analysis of two historical examples: Cicero’s prosecution against Verres and the parliamentary speeches of Bettino Craxi.
Curated by Fondazione Orestiadi and the Pier Paolo Pasolini Cultural Center, with scientific direction by Alfonso Maurizio Iacono and artistic direction by Giovanni Taglialavoro, the event will feature lectures, talks, theatrical performances, and workshops for high school students, offering an immersive experience into the mechanisms of rhetoric and communication.
A journey into the power of language, bridging classical tradition and contemporary thought, aimed at establishing Agrigento as a point of reference for the study of oratory and a place of encounter with its genius loci.
